Information for Farmer-Vendors
- WHAT:
- A weekly outdoor farmer’s-style market in Evanston’s 5th Ward
- WHEN:
- 8:30 am-3 pm Saturdays, June 6th thru October 31st
- WHERE:
- Market is held in the parking lot at the SE corner of Church and Dodge. The location, roughly two miles west of downtown Evanston’s established Farmer’s Market, offers the bounty of a farmer’s-style market close to home.
- WHY:
- To respond to demand on Evanston’s West Side for fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables, and create economic development opportunities for the community
- WHO:
- The West End Market Committee is a group of citizens and volunteers committed to making possible a fresh food market in West-End Evanston. The committee has the full support of 5th Ward Alderman Delores Holmes, as well as the Evanston Food Policy Council.
Details:
- City license not necessary if selling only produce
- LINK will be accepted
- We are seeking farmers interested in being represented at the Market, either by selling produce to the Market for resale, or by renting space at the Market for a fee.
- Market vendors pay a season fee that is very reasonable.
- Baked goods need to have been prepared in licensed kitchens and vendors need to have ingredient list at hand.
- Cider and other drinks have to be pasteurized or labeled as non-pasteurized.
